VANDA FUNARI It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Vanda, on December 11, 2015, surrounded by her children at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 85 years. She is predeceased by her brother, Attilio Plastina, and her sister, Lina Plastina. She is survived by her husband, Francesco. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Pasquale (Rita) and Attilio (Brenda), as well as her daughter, Rosa (Paolo) Pesce; her grandchildren, Joseph (Dory), Tia (Danny), Claudia, Rebecca and Francesco, as well as her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Katrina and Natalia mourn her passing. She is also survived by her brother, Giuseppe Plastina (Maria), sister, Sara Chiodo (Pasquale), her brother-in law, Antonio Funari (Francesca) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the nurses at the Victoria General Hospital, 4 North, for their care and compassion of our Mother during her final days, as well as all the kind staff at Poseidon Care Centre where Mom resided for the past year and a half. Viewing and condolences will be held at Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Ave., on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial being held at 11:00 a.m. Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
