TRENTON WAYNE OLDFIELD October 27, 1975 - December 10, 2015 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Trenton Wayne Oldfield, beloved son, brother, father, nephew, cousin and friend. He is survived by his father Wayne, mother Judie, sisters Shanlee (Jeremy), niece Marlowe and Bonnie (Doug), niece Emma, nephew Jack, sons, Traften and Hunter, their mother Bridgette, life friend Sharon Forsberg, many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his Auntie Wendy. Trent was a free spirit and a unique individual. People would often come up to us and say how smart, witty, compassionate and full of life he was. He spent his formative years growing up in Waverly Heights, attending Chancellor, AA Leach, and Vincent Massey schools where he made many friends. He also attended both the University of Manitoba and Red River College, where he majored in playing pool. Growing up Trent spent his summers on Lake of the Woods. This is where he honed his craft of fishing and hunting, and also where he gained the nickname of Gunner, coined from his numerous Kenora buddies. He went on to work at Home Depot. He loved working there as he could use his skill with autocad and also meet and talk with people. He went on to work in the steel industry with Russel Metals, New Brunswick Steel and finally Cascadia Metals. It was definitely his calling. Many people assisted Trenton and our family along the way since his diving accident, we would have too many names to mention here and do not want to miss any so a heartfelt thank you to all those who came forward and helped Trenton and our family. However, we do want to give a great big thank you to Jacqueline Armes of the Paraplegic Association for her assistance, compassion and advice to all of us. His two boys, Traften (8) and Hunter (5) were his pride and joy. A celebration of Trenton's life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel 1006 Nairn Ave. (corner of Keenleyside and Nairn). • We first met Trent at the lake, kids all hung out together. Whether at Wayne and Judie's or on the island they were always up to something! Funniest memory was one lovely summer day the kids said they were going to Oldfield's to hang out with Trent and off they went. A few shotgun blasts later they returned with what were brand new and now holey T-shirts. Seems it was a good idea to pin them to a sheet of plywood and use them for target practice! I'm sure we'll meet again someday my friend, meantime we will miss your life loving attitude, great conversation and smile. Leave some fish for the rest of us in that great lake in the sky. - Posted by: Leigh Rattenbury (Lake Neighbour and friend) on: Dec 19, 2015

  • We will miss you Trent... Your spirit and sense of humour will live on... You were truly an inspiration, regaining your ability to walk after your injury... That is such a tribute to your determination. I remember babysitting you and your sister when you guys were little, for your mom and dad... And I remember how excited you were when you guys got your boat... You showed me everything about it while it was still in the garage... And as a young man, your keen and genuine interest in those around you... We will miss you Trent! Uncle Ron - Posted by: Uncle Ron and Auntie Shirley (Aunt and Uncle) on: Dec 16, 2015
