Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY ELEANOR BUCHHOLZ It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruby Eleanor Buchholz on December 12, 2015 at Betel Home in Gimli, MB, at the age of 93. Ruby is survived by one sister, Bernice Stewart of Logan Lake, BC and sister-in-law Doris Weislein of Courtney, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carl on June 5, 1990; sisters, Irene Buchberger and Lorraine Boyd; and brother Bill Lesopoy. Ruby Eleanor Lesopoy was born in Winnipeg, MB on April 6, 1922 and completed her schooling in The Pas. She married Carl Buchholz on June 6, 1945 in The Pas and then went north for a few years. Later Ruby and Carl moved to Winnipeg where Ruby worked as a secretary for several insurance companies and later for the R.C.M.P. until her retirement. Ruby and Carl moved to Gimli and resided in Aspen Park. After Carl passed away, Ruby moved into a condo at the Waterfront Centre and later to Betel Home. Ruby loved music and sang in the choir. She liked to read and watch the news. Until she gave up her driver's licence, Ruby loved to travel in her car and made several trips out to BC, as well as all over Manitoba. She also made several trips to the States with her special friend Bruce Wood and went on some cruises, including the Panama Canal. Cremation has taken place. In accordance and honouring Ruby's wishes, a graveside service will be held next summer at the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Betel Home Foundation.
