Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET G. L. BLANCO November 16, 1924 - December 15, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret G. L. Blanco (Peggy) on December 15, 2015, at the age of 91, at Golden Links Lodge. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Robert (Bob) Blanco, daughter Margaret E. (Betty) Jones, son-in-law Allan, granddaughter Alanna (Chris), grandson Brad (Kris), and seven precious great-grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Jim Blanco, mother Beatrice Laewetz, stepfather Henry Laewetz, father Hughy Millar, brother Harry Laewet, and sister Jean Ching. Peggy was born in Dover, England and moved to Canada with her mother and sister when she was three years of age. She grew up in Winnipeg, and worked at Eaton's Mail Order until she married in 1946. She then became a housewife and stayed at home to raise her children. Mom loved to bowl and bowled for years at the Fort Garry Bowling Alley on a mixed league and then later on a women's league. She also loved to play bingo at the Fort Garry Legion which she was a member of for many years with our father Jim. Mom also had been a member of the Eagles Club in St. Norbert for many years. She loved to bake and the neighbourhood kids would come by on the weekends to sample all of her goodies and especially when she made her homemade fries. Mom was at Misericordia Interim, sixth floor, from November, 2014 to April 28, 2015, when she moved to Golden Links. We would like to thank the staff (6th Floor) at the Misericordia for the wonderful care she received during her stay there and also to the wonderful staff at Golden Links for all of their great care, support and loving kindness. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 3459 Pembina Hwy., St. Norbert. Mom, you will always be missed and lovingly remembered by your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Love you!! We will always be thankful that we knew Peggy and enjoyed her company on many occasions. Her sharp wit and honesty could be counted on, but mostly her good heart and genuineness were always present. She truly loved family and included us in the circle. A good life well lived and we will remember her with fondness. Hugs Betty and Bob. - Posted by: Lynn and Ernie Chalus (Friends) on: Dec 23, 2015

I have so many cherished memories of Auntie Peggy and the whole family. She was a great lady with a terrific sense of humor and I am so saddened by her passing; but I believe she and Uncle Jimmy will be re-united and that eases the pain. Take comfort in knowing that she made a true difference to others. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love to all. My deepest sympathy. - Posted by: Toni (Tonette) Hays (Niece) on: Dec 18, 2015
