Most beautiful, kind, generous, thoughtful, gentle, graceful and caring soul, not to mention a snazzy dresser who knew her style, that was Gwen. Gwen was a person always to be admired and such a pleasure to be with so it is with much sadness to bid a final farewell to this amazing woman, however the memories of you will fondly remain in our hearts. Mark, Leela and Doug, plus families and remaining siblings of Gwen, sorry we can not give you hugs in person but trust we are with you in spirit and that in your families there is the strength to cope when you are there for each other. Many blessings - Posted by: cher and jim (friends) on: Jan 03, 2016

Feeling very sad today to learn of the passing of Gwen.i worked in many places over the years never did I meet a nurse with more compassion.in Glenboro in the late fifies, without benefit of penicillin I remember her being solely responsible for saving the lives of two patients. The first was a very frail undernourished child with pneumonia. It was winter ,parents delayed bringing child for admittance .Gwen had kitchen staff making mustard plasters, she sat with this child around the clock for several days, finally the child sat up and began to cough. She had turned the bend ,Gwen was now able to leave her post for much needed rest. The second was a young ,healthy looking guy in his twenties. Same scenario.same-treatment and regime of vigilance.i saw this man many years later,a chance meeting.he approached me asking about Gwrn and reminding me of how she had saved his life. I tried to find Gwen these last couple of years. I think now I am almost glad I didn't find her in a home. I prefer to remember her doing what she did best...caring for others. Well done my friend. - Posted by: Corinne taylor manson (Friend and co worker) on: Jan 02, 2016
