Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA ANNE WARD It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, Barbara Anne Ward. Barbie passed in her sleep at the Grace Hospital early on Monday, January 4th, 2016. Barb is survived and missed by her loving children, Chris and Robynne (Paul), her best friend and mother, Beverley, brothers Joe (Pam) and John (Lisa), sisters Susie (Gabriel) and Debbie (Colin), her dear nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. Barb was predeceased by her father, Joe, her grandparents (Joe and Liz, Sam and Jean), and her niece, Jennifer. Barb was born in Winnipeg on February 24, 1964 and grew up in St. James, where she went to school at Britannia Elementary, Stevenson Jr. High, and St. James Collegiate. Barb was a competitive and avid player of many sports throughout her school years and into her adult life, including team handball, softball, volleyball, and basketball. She loved playing cards and board games with her friends and family, and many will remember epic battles at the family cabin in Grindstone. Barb was an accomplished artist and drew or painted many beautiful pieces. Barb loved music, dancing, and spent many fun nights with her friends and family, laughing and telling stories. She was never more happy, though, than when she was with her children, whom she loved very much. We will all cherish our memories of Barb's infectious laughter, her naughty sense of humour, and her loving heart. Our lives will never be the same. Who will eat the cookies? We love you forever, Mom, and miss you terribly. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, in Winnipeg on Saturday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the many health care professionals who helped Barb over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
