Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY ANNE ELISABETH DOPSON (nee BACHYNSKI) 1949 - 2016 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Shirley (Shirl) on January 8, 2016, in her home, after a battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her mother Agnes, father Walter, and brother Ken Bachynski. Shirley will be remembered by her husband David Young, son Shane Dopson (Cindy), grandchildren Lochlan and Tristan, brothers John (Rolly) and Bernie, life-long friend Carol Schapansky, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends. Everyone in her life knew she loved family, friends and flowers. She loved the outdoors, gardening and any of nature's birds and creatures. Please feel free to bring yourselves and some flowers to the Celebration and then to take home to remember her. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Thinking back a few years to a week spent in the Bahamas when Shirley and I rented a little motor scooter. I drove and she hung on - we both laughed a lot!! Dear Dave, we are saddened by the loss of our dear Shirley! We know that Shirley is now in a better place and at peace. We will miss our Chinese food dinners at Falcon with Shirley who always finished last, our late night coffees and of course Dennis and Shirley's crib games where you and I would tune them right out and carry on our own conversations!!! These times will never be forgotten with Shirley and we know she will be watching over us each and every time we continue our get togethers!!! You have been a wonderful husband to her and we know she was very thankful for that! Try to stay strong during this difficult time. We are always here for you.
