HOWARD JANZEN
Born: Apr 14, 1940
Date of Passing: Jan 10, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHOWARD (RALPH) JANZEN April 14, 1940 - January 10, 2016 Peacefully, on Sunday, January 10, 2016, our dear father, Ralph, passed away at Grace Hospital, at the age of 75. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mike, Marc and Koleen (Brad); their mother Lillian; sister Julia; grandchildren, Melanie, Andrew and Ben; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Averie, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary (nee Dyck) and siblings, Art, Evelyn and Dorothy. Born and raised in Winkler, Manitoba, Dad moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba. After graduating, he became a lifetime employee of MTS. Taking an early retirement gave Dad time to do "fun side jobs", travel and spend time with his many, many friends, who will always remember their buddy, "Ralphie", with affection. Dad enjoyed curling, golf and loved his crossword puzzles. His ability to make friends and positive impressions on others continued as he spent his last months at Deer Lodge Centre (Lodge 2 East). A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Deer Lodge for your amazing care and compassion. We will miss this kind, generous, wonderful man with all of our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Rest in peace Dad, until we meet again. Sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. He and I chummed together in our last year at university and were hired on at MTS at the same time. I have a number of good memories of going to the driving range and golfing with Ralph. He was always much better that me and showed patience with a duffer. - Posted by: John Fritz () on: Jan 15, 2016
