MARCIN KOLBUSZEWSKI 1964 - 2016 Marcin Kolbuszewski, at the tender age of 51, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on January 10, 2016. He is survived by his beautiful daughters Marta and Ania, his mother Krystyna, father Jacek, and his aunts Aniela and Maria. Marcin, or Martin as he liked to be called, wore many hats: father, scientist, member of the Polish community, artist and friend. His talents were many, particularly with a camera. He could capture the beauty of any subject, from the blushing bride to the urban adventurist. With a cigar and scotch at hand, he could traverse any boundary and find the heart of the person - this is why his photography was so profound. Martin was a direct, straight talking, rambling, intelligent, sarcastic man. This was endearing to his friends and maddening to his acquaintances. He will be sorely missed by both. While his immediate family returns to Ottawa, his Winnipeg family will be hosting a celebration of his life on the afternoon of Sunday, January 24. Please contact 204-869-6958 for details and location. Please support the local art scene in his memory, such as opening your home to travellers from the Fringe Festival, or donating to a local art charity. A donation box will be available at Martin's celebration for ArtSpace and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. "I believe that real life happens in the shadows... the dance of light and shadow gives the world, the body, and life their texture." • The Martin I know was definitely an intellect and an artist. I enjoyed listening to his banter about a multitude of topics and to this I will sincerely miss him. My deepest sympathy go out to all his family and his many communities of friends. - Posted by: Karen D (Friend and Coworker) on: Jan 18, 2016
