LAURA ISABEL KREBS (HAWKINS) Peacefully on January 10, 2016 with family by her side, Mom at the age of 96 years, left us to join Dad (Bill), parents Orville and Mary Hawkins, sisters, Evelyne, Eleanor, Mabel, Dorothy, brother Jack and grandson Neil. Left to cherish her memory are children Ken (Donna), Linda, Eldon (Nancy), Grandchildren Bryon (Noelle), Chad (Lori), Andrew (Jamie), Alaina (Dan), Stephanie (Jordan) Great-Grandchildren Morgan, Skye, Damian, Christian, Danica, Luke, Laura, Adrianna, Sarah, and David as well as sisters Doreen, Joyce, Mary and Viola and numerous nieces and nephews. Family was always important to Mom as we all witnessed with the many celebrations and family reunions. When visiting you could always expect card games, lots of fun and laughter, and a great "Cup of Tea". Mom enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She loved to watch Baseball and Curling and knew all of the stats. Mom was a whiz at crossword puzzles. Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling, fishing and camping throughout their life together, spending many summers at West Hawk Lake and wintering in Texas. The family would like to thank the 6th floor staff at the Misericordia Hospital as well as staff at the Victoria Hospital both in the Emergency Department and the 4th floor south for their kind and compassionate care. A private family interment has taken place, a Memorial service will be held at St. Mary's United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Siloam Mission 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or the Movement Centre of Winnipeg, 1646 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R2G 1N7. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me" With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Love you Mom.
