Irene was born in Winnipeg and was a long time resident of Charleswood. She worked for many years with Villa Rosa and found great satisfaction in helping those in need. She enjoyed gardening and enjoyed all that nature has to offer. She will be survived by her daughter Suzanne White of Langley, BC, son Stewart White of Courtenay, BC, grandchildren Brad of Edmonton, Andy of Calgary and Michelle of Calgary, and six great-grandchildren. At Irene's request there will be no service. "I prefer that family and friends remember me in their own way and that will be their tribute to me and my life." I've known the White family since 1955. Mrs. White's son, Stewart and I grew up as friends and still are to this day. I will always remember Stew's mom as a caring, funny and witty person. Many wonderful childhood memories were made possible because of her hospitality and genuine interest in us. We always felt welcome at the White's. Heaven has gained a good soul.
