LOUISE MARIE WARWICK (nee KENNEDY) May 3, 1931 - January 17, 2016 With great sadness and much love, the family of Louise announces her passing on January 17, 2016 at the age of 84. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ken (Brenda), Lynn, Donna Gilmour (Perry); grandchildren, Brayden and Brooke Gilmour. Louise is also survived by her brother John Kennedy of Colorado and sister-in-law Helen Warwick of Saskatoon, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack Warwick in 2011; her parents, Philip and Marie Kennedy; and brother Charlie Kennedy. Louise grew up in Norwood and attended King George School and Winnipeg School of Art before working at Brigdens as a fashion artist. She was involved with the Cercle Moliere, taking part in several plays in her younger years, directed by her Aunt Pauline Boutal. In 1953, she married Jack Warwick, the love of her life, celebrating 58 years of marriage. Mom loved travelling, especially to Mexico, Florida and Las Vegas. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading, concerts and going to the casino, as well as Monday and Wednesday bingo nights with longtime friend and neighbour, Bev Baker. She was a Blue Bomber season ticket holder for decades and followed the Jets and Blue Jays closely. Mom worked briefly in the jewellery departments at Kmart and The Bay, spending the majority of her adult life as a great homemaker, wife and Mom to her appreciative family. She was a great supporter of all our endeavours. The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital and Palliative Care for their attentive care of our Mom during her courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service celebrating Louise's life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Private family interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Louise's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice. Rest in Peace Mom, we love you very much. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com
