Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCANDICE JEAN SMITH In Loving Memory Dii Tib Binassikwe-Rolling Thunderbird Woman June 28, 1976 January 20, 2016 Candice Jean Smith passed on to the spirit world January 20, 2016 at the age of 39 years old at the St. Boniface Hospital with her family by her side. She is preceded by her parents Alfred Smith and Rose Hayden; brother Joseph Smith; nephew Hyde Stevens; paternal grandparents, George Prince and Jean Smith and her maternal grandparents, Joe and Dorothy Hayden. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Darrion, Tanisha and Chelsea Alexander; and her common-law husband Henry Hayden; and step-children, Troy, Desiree, Taylor and Hunter; her brothers, Sheldon Smith Sr. (Ruby), Alfred Hayden (Evelyn), Charles (Barbara), Barry (Jeri-Lyn); and sister Sherelyn (Vernon); adopted siblings, Lola Thunderchild (Dennis Taylor), Shirley Paul, Roy Seenie, Laura Paul, Gordon Smith (Maryann); her aunties Bernadette and Jerry, Lois and Rosie as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Candice loved all kinds of music and dancing, especially powwow. She loved travelling and made many friends on the powwow trail. As Candice grew, she devoted her time to raising her three children. She loved to laugh and joke around. Candice also liked to bead and sew, making her own powwow regalia and later for her children. She volunteered at the powwow and other events that promoted positive social activity. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends at bingo or at their homes over coffee. Candice was beautiful inside and out. Her humour, grace, humility and love for all things made her a wonderful person to be around. She made many great friends that became like family. Candice will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. Wake services will commence January 21 and January 22, 2016 at the Roseau River First Nation-Makoon's Centre and Traditional Funeral Services on January 23, 2016.
