RICHARD (REG) STABNER April 8, 1928 - January 20, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce dad's passing on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with family by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth Elaine (nee Hickman); his infant son Randy; his parents Adolph and Amanda Stabner. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Brenda Roy, Bradley, Kim Yanke (Garry), Cindy McCabe (Kevin), Darcy, Shelley Senkow (Fred) and Michelle Peterson (Brent); his grandchildren, James, Richard, Christina, Chandell, Dillon, Camelle, Shannon, Shane, Randi, Courtney, Gareth, Sari and Bailey; and many cherished great-grandchildren and his brother Art (the last of 11 children). Dad was born in 1928 and grew up on a farm. He married Mom on August 20, 1954 and went on to have eight children, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and he cherished us all dearly. Dad had a great sense of humour and, right up until the end, enjoyed making his girls laugh. His passion and pride was gardening and he liked to compare the quality of his vegetables to other gardener's harvest. Dad enjoyed the companionship of many dogs throughout his life....and they were all named Big Dog. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care that Dad received for the last three years at Maples Personal Care Home. The Pallbearers will be Chandell Pischke, Dillon Stabner, Camelle Veloso, Shannon Glowatsky, Gareth Senkow, Sari Peterson, Bailey Peterson and Ethan Veloso. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Ashern Gospel Chapel. Pastor Bill Watson officiating, with Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery.
