ANNE CHUDYK (nee BEYAK) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Anne Chudyk on January 14, 2016 at the age of 94. She passed away peacefully at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg with her family by her side. Anne was born at Cork Cliff District, near Winnipegosis. In her younger years Anne enjoyed spending time with family, Christmas Caroling, square dancing, and attending community dances. When she left home she resided in Winnipeg and was employed at the Misericordia Hospital. She married John Chudyk on November 23, 1946 and began farming in the Rice Lake District where they raised their family. Besides farming, Anne worked outside the home for numerous years painting houses with her sister Ada. In 1975 John and Anne moved to Dauphin. While in Dauphin, Anne worked at the Western Bakery, the Dauphin Inn and Laverandre Restaurant. Anne enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and knitting. Even after moving to Middlechurch, Anne continued to knit house slippers. Above all else Anne was the world's best perogie maker. She was known for her perogies by people from the east coast to the west coast, even as far south as Florida. Anne was very kind and generous and no one left her home without a goody basket. She will be remembered primarily for her unconditional love for her family. Anne was predeceased by her parents William and Effie (Sass) Beyak; her infant daughter Valerie; her husband John and his siblings, her sisters, Katie (Steve) Monchka, Jenny (Lucas) Hucaluk, Ada (John) Monchka, Ella Boyko; and brothers, John Beyak, Nick (Mary) Beyak, Paul (Sally) Beyak, and Steve Beyak. Anne was the last surviving sibling of the Beyak family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Lorraine Spackman, Burlington, Ontario; son Les (Noreen) Chudyk, Winnipeg; grandchildren, Sheldon (Michelle) Spackman, Red Deer, Alberta, Shannon Spackman, Mississauga, Ontario, Jonathon (Kelly) Chudyk and Jennifer Chudyk (Justin Edwards), Winnipeg; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Sierra Spackman, Red Deer, Alberta; her sisters-in-law, Jennie Beyak, Winnipeg and Annie Chudyk, Fork River; plus numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In keeping with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. We extend our special thanks to all the staff on N2 at the Middlechurch Home for their assistance, care, compassion and friendship. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to a charity of choice are suggested. Sneath-Strilchuk -Dauphin Chapel 204-638-4110 www.sneathstrilchuk.com
