DENNIS BELL Quietly, on Monday afternoon, February 1, 2016, supported by the love, strength and compassion of his family, Dennis made his journey into the spiritual realm, most likely greeted by his father Kristinn; brother David; brother-in-law Bob Riter and numerous other relatives and friends that have gone on before. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Elenore; daughter Lexi and her mother Colleen; sisters, Christine, Cindy (Bobbie), Liza (Doug), Sandra (Ken), Susan (Carl) and their families; sister-in-law Maggie and godson Teigun. He will also be missed by numerous family and friends. Dennis was born and raised in Selkirk, MB, the last of seven children to Kristinn and Elenore Bell. The fall was of course his favourite time of year and Dennis could be found scouring over hunting books, Cabela's catalogues and preparing for the upcoming hunting season. Dennis shared his hunting and fishing passion with his nephew Ryan and his cousin Curtis, his other brothers. He was the consummate hunter and fisherman, and took great pleasure in preparing for the hunt, and teaching Teigun and the younger ones all the intricacies of a good hunt. His greatest treasure was his daughter, Lexi. They were often seen in full camo, in his truck, going off to count the deer in the park and scoping the next hunting spot. He enjoyed providing her with all the necessary props to nurture her unique style and personality. Dennis had his own style and sense of humour and instilled this in his daughter. He was extremely proud of her maturity in dealing with the stress of his illness. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, MB, with Fr. Stan Gacek officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make your thoughtful donations to Narcotics Anonymous, Selkirk Chapter, P.O. Box 25073, Winnipeg, MB R2V 4C7. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Sending my condolences to Lexi, Colleen & Eleanor Bell & all his family & friends. I was saddened to see Dennis so ill & prayed for his recovery. It is truly tragic to lose a loved one so young. Everytime I ran into Den, he spoke so highly of Lexi and how proud he was of her. Talking about her brought out his child like smile. May you rest in peace my friend. I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Colleen and Lexi as well as all of Dennis' family. Dennis became a good friend during my time at the Selkirk Base. He truly was just a big kid at heart and became like a little brother to me, although he was but months younger. I will remember that mischievous glint in his eye and his gentle smile. I can still hear the pride in his voice when he spoke of Lexi and the love when he spoke of his little family. These are truly things he cherished regardless of the challenges he faced in his life in these past years. Dennis you will forever be in my prayers and if there can be any positive in this is that you can finally be at peace. You will be missed my friend. - Posted by: Giselle Poitras (Coworker and friend) on: Feb 06, 2016
