BONNIE BUHR (nee HIGHLANDS) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie on February 2, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. Bonnie is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Ian) and Erin (Chris); sons Stephen and Nicholas; brothers Terry (Ines) and Randy; sister Lori (Brent); and grandchildren Eloise and Jackson. Bonnie was born and raised in Winnipeg but spent time living in Vancouver, Ann Arbor, and Waterloo before returning to Winnipeg. She was a loving mother, and she dedicated her life to her family. She loved to travel and she visited many places, including Mexico, Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, Quebec, Boston, Nova Scotia and the southern states. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A service in celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.   • Bonnie had a gentle spirit Bonnie loved God and showed His love to others in being the person she was. I met Bonnie in a group of women who met regularly to support one another and pray. Although it was long ago the bonds that we formed are still strong today Although Bonnie is not present here I know that her prayers and love will go on.   • I met Bonnie when our children were little. We spent many great times together at Clear Lake and in Winnipeg. She was an incredibly kind, gentle, and loving friend. We also worked at the university together. We lost touch a few years ago when she moved out of the house.   • My condolences to Bonnie's family. Bonnie and I were good friends growing up in Transcona.We shared some very fun times in our early teens. We laughed alot! Bonnie was always a kind..gentle person..very understanding and patient. Shared many birthday lunches over the years..I consider her one of my dearest friends....even when our personal lives prevent us from getting together..we were just a phone call away to say hi.
