DIANA KATHRYN HIEBERT (nee MINIGAN) April 29, 1938 - February 3, 2016 Mom passed away peacefully, at home, with "Her Ernie" and her daughters by her side. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory son Alan Hiebert, Ontario; grandchildren Carlena and Jordan; daughter Elaine (Jim), Cambridge, Ontario; grandson Eric (Tammy), great-grandchildren Hayden, Haley, Sydney, Seth, Sheldon, and Spencer; granddaughter Krista, great-grandchildren Kiara and Khloe; daughter Laura (Dan), Lundar, Manitoba; granddaughter Natasha (Josh), great-grandchildren Katia and Xander; grandson Ryan (Jess). When Mom met Jess, then later Josh, she immediately found a place in her heart for them, and considered them her family as well. In addition, too numerous to list, are many sisters and brothers-in-law and their families on Dad's side. At age nine, Mom lost her own mother, and was left alone and parentless. Although she wasn't able to mourn her own loss, she thrived and made a life for herself. At age 21, Mom met and married "Her Ernie". They were married in Hamilton, Ontario on January 16, 1960. While Mom was home under Palliative Care, she and Dad celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary with Dad's favourite: chocolate cake. Mom made sure she got Laura and Dan to buy it for them. When Dad saw the cake, he said "Oh, my favourite!" Mom always kept herself busy cooking and baking for Dad everyday with great joy. She was always watching cooking shows to come up with new and exciting recipes. Mom enjoyed many hobbies, and did them with great love. She loved to knit, scrapbook, sew, colour, and she was an excellent homemaker. In our younger years, we got so excited to come home from school to find a new piece of clothing lovingly sewn for us. Mom was also an avid reader, and she introduced us to the joy of reading at a very young age, taking us to our town library for our own library cards. Imagine our excitement when we were able to go choose stacks of books to take home and read at our leisure. We would go camping every summer, and make trips to Manitoba to visit our grandparents. They were wonderful family holidays. As children, these trips to visit our grandmother and Aunt Tina and Uncle Wally and their boys formed a forever bond that still exists to this day. Mom had a great sense of humour, before and during her illness, and enjoyed meeting people and talking with them. Words could not properly express the appreciation and gratitude we have for our team of caregivers that got Mom, as well as all of us, through this difficult time. To the doctors, nurses, health care aides, home care team, paramedics, as well as our family and friends, thank you all. You have each helped make such a difficult time a little easier to bare. As per Mom's wishes, there will be no funeral, but rather a private family viewing. "I've loved you forever Diane xo Love Ernie" "Til we meet again Mom. Love you always xo Laura "Love you to the moon and back Mom xo Elaine Arrangements entrusted to ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, MB, 1-866-293-4951
