JUNE OLIVE STROM June Olive Strom passed away at the age of 92 years on January 30, 2016. She is survived by her daughters Gloria and Julie (Marc Lessard); her granddaughters Corrina Warner Kubas (Brant) and Cindy Warner (Chris); great-grandchildren Tianna and Tristan; as well as Joyce Sewell; sister-in-law and numerous cousins and many friends, including her neighbor of 60 years, Mary Yanke. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Arthur Sigvald Strom; her mother Viola Chrystabelle Zimmerman and father Horace (Bud) Sewell, her brother Gordon Sewell, as well as her daughter Eileen Warner and son-in-law Ron Warner. She was devoted to her family, always putting their needs first. She continued with her painting (water colours and oils) and was a member of numerous associations where she exhibited her work. She was extremely creative and talented with her petit point, needle point, embroidery, crocheting, sewing and other crafts. June will be remembered for her love of C's cookies, candy, chocolate, chips, cake and ice cream as well as her constant strength and loving nature. She was a loving mother to her three daughters and her husband, creating a warm household with her baking, cooking and management of the household. She also created clothing for her daughters, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. During this time, she was active in the St. George Anglican church. She went back to school at Success Business College at the age of 43 and then worked at Paulin's for 10 years in the finance department. She was also treasurer of the Craft Guild of Manitoba during this time. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
