BERNARD MILLS 1924 - 2016 Bernard Mills passed away peacefully on January 28 at Deer Lodge Care Centre. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriett (Hattie), who resides at the Deer Lodge Centre. Bernard was predeceased by his revered older brothers, Martin (2010) and William Mills in (2004). He is survived by several nieces and nephews residing in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Bernard served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. After being discharged from the military, he returned to Winnipeg and worked in his trade as a machinist with the Canadian Pacific Railway until retirement. Bernard was a quiet, caring man who treasured times with family, appreciated fine music, enjoyed playing cards, and observed and recorded important world events. Messages of condolences, memories and cards may be sent to Harriett Mills, in care of Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. A memorial service and celebration of Bernard's life will be held at a later date. "Those we love don't go away - They walk beside us every day"
