RALPH (NELSON) OTTO MORRIS May 15, 1954 - February 12, 2016 It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Nelson Morris on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 61. Nelson will be greatly missed by his partner Joan and pal Casey. He will be remembered by his sister Judith (Ed), sister Gail (Marshall), brother Willard (Lynn), sister Karen (Mel), brother Douglas (Glendelynn), sister Nola (Ron), brother-in-law Normal Powell, numerous nieces and nephews, his extended family, Eileen, Dennis & Linda, Alvin, Judy & Allen, Ron, Donna & Avery, Jerry & Rosemary and Richard. Nelson was predeceased by his parents Mildred & Melvin and his sister Elaine (Duffy) Powell. Nelson was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba and was raised in Fork River. At the age of 15, he spent his summers with his brother Willard following the carnival circuit until he finished school. He then moved to Winnipeg where he was employed at CN until he retired. Nelson enjoyed life. He had a good sense of humor and his quick wit will not be forgotten by his friends and family. He was a great cook, and he enjoyed many activities - hunting, fishing and golf. Since his retirement he has spent most of his time at the cabin enjoying his life at leisure - taking many walks with Casey, visiting with our neighbors and taking an occasional excursion to Neepawa or Winnipeg for a golf game with his family or friends. Cremation has taken place and a private farewell to Nelson will be held at a later date. We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to family, friends and neighbors who supported us through this difficult time with comforting words, hugs, messages, phone calls and offers of support. Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • I am sorry to hear about Nelson's passing. Duffy loved her brothers and spoke often about them. Duffy married my Dad, Norm Powell, and they lived on Vancouver Island near Parksville where she passed away. My Dad passed away in the spring and Lance and I took care of his estate. I have just gone through a couple of boxes of photos. They took a LOT of pictures. I have a box full that I thought the family might like to go through. Please call me at 780-623-2633 or on my cell, 403-829-7541. - Posted by: Sandra Makokis (extended family) on: Sep 06, 2023

  • Saddened to learn of Nelson's untimely passing. Although I have not seen Nelson since high school, the characteristics that are captured in all the posts illustrate that he has never changed in all the years that have passed since I last saw him. I will always remember the good old days being a classmate of his. RIP Nelson. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Rick Lucas (Highschool classmate) on: Feb 23, 2016
