Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN ROSE MARIE LUND (nee STERZER) August 8, 1932 - February 16, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our much beloved, mother, grandmother and sister, Eileen Rose Marie Lund, on February 16, 2016, at the Maples Personal Care Home. Eileen is lovingly remembered by her children, Eileen (John), Tom (Diane), Gord (Rita), Louise (Ron), Bruce (Cherie) and Val (Ron); grandchildren, Christine, Lisa, Matthew, Michelle, Trevor, Jennifer, Jessi, Kevin, Ryan, Alana, Steven, Neal, Ashley and David; great-grandchildren, Logan, Ryder, Colby and Keenan; as well as her sister Helen and brothers, Larry and Albert. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anita and Mary Louise. Eileen was predeceased by her husbands, Leonard Mark (1964) and Earl Lund (2009); Eileen or Rose, as she was known to all, was a loving and devoted mother and wife, who as a homemaker was always there to support and care for her family and friends. Rose loved to bake and was famous for items such as her, short bread cookies, chocolate and red velvet cakes. She loved the simple things in life, such as family gatherings, playing cards and board games. Rose was devoted to her faith and attended church on a regular basis and also spent countless hours volunteering at the Selkirk food bank. One of Rose's favourite pastimes was garage sale trips with her twin sister Mary Louise. Even though Rose was mild mannered, she was feisty and loved a good debate with family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for all their caring, compassion and support in taking care of our beloved Rose. Mass will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk, Manitoba, luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. "We love you and you will be forever in our hearts" Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
