Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PENNER (nee WIEBE) November 11, 1921 - February 23, 2016 Mary Penner was born in the Lowe Farm area on November 11, 1921. When she was about 13 years old she met the love of her life, Dave Penner who had come to work for her father. They were married on October 31, 1940. They made their home in Lowe Farm where they raised their eight children. She was predeceased by her husband Dave, in 2010; one daughter Loretta in infancy; and one great grandson. Left to mourn is her only surviving brother Jake (Rose) Wiebe; her four sons, Bob (Aurea), Allan (Lynne), Leonard (Elfrieda) and Doug (JoAnn); her four daughters, Rose Kieper, Marjorie (Jim) Fraser, Janice (Jack) Penner, and Roxy (Mark) Meaney; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one son-in-law, Jim Kieper. She was a homemaker, always there for her family, always encouraging them in their endeavours. Her deep faith helped her through many difficult times. She was the consummate volunteer, working for her church, her community, MCC, and whatever needed doing. She went to be her Lord on February 23, 2016 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held in Portage Avenue Church (1420 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg) at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 29, burial will take place in the Lowe Farm Cemetery, at approximately 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MCC.
