Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON H. PETERSON January 13, 1926 - February 23, 2016 It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon H. Peterson on February 23, 2016. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Eleanor (Kovachik), of 56 years, his children Mag and Drew Knox, and Sandy Peterson and Michele D'Elia, and grandchildren Paige and Sean Knox. He will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his son Charlie (2002), his parents John and Anna, his brothers Ernie, Norm and Rob, and his sister Shirley. Gord was born in West Kildonan. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He attended business college and worked at the Manitoba Telephone System for 37 years and retired in 1984. He loved to travel - his favourite winter holiday was to Barbados where he made many close friends to whom he was in touch with til this day. He was softspoken, kind and always putting others before himself. His children and family meant the world to him and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. As per his wishes, he has been cremated and a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
