IRENE CWIAK July 1, 1917 - February 26, 2016 Irene Cwiak passed away at the age of 98 on February 26, 2016 at Holy Family Home in Winnipeg. Irene was born on July 1, 1917 and lived a long and productive life. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Anastasia Maksymchuk; husband Michael; only child, daughter Dianne Dickson; sisters Anne and Effie; and brothers Joseph, Sam, Michael, John, and Nicholas. She is survived by her son-in-law Jim Dickson; grandchildren Jim (Heather) Dickson, Theresa Dickson-Grear, Tara Dickson, and Tyler Dickson; sister-in-law Jean Maksymchuk; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Irene was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and of the Apostleship of Prayer. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street with The Reverend Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9.
