LESLIE MCINTYRE February 5, 1947 - March 5, 2016 Unexpectedly, on Saturday, March 5, 2016, one month after his 69th birthday, Leslie Wayne McIntyre passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, with his wife Joan at his side. Leslie is survived by his loving wife Joan; mother-in-law Mary; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marge and Barry; nephew Derek (Sherry); niece Erin (Craig); and great-nephew Max, who he thought the world of and made a point of getting a special gift for Max whenever he and Joan travelled or even shopping in Winnipeg. Also left to mourn his passing is his cousin Carol and her family from Maple Ridge, BC; and cousin Cora and family from Winnipeg. Predeceased by his parents and cousin/best friend Rick Manton. Leslie was born in Winnipeg and worked at Livingston Warehouse as a manager for many years. Leslie and Joan enjoyed travelling to many cities in the U.S. and in Canada. His favourite places were Las Vegas, Victoria, Vancouver and Temple Gardens - Moose Jaw. Joan would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Emergency Department for taking great care of Leslie and being very supportive to her and her family. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Leslie's wishes, no formal service will take place. A private family interment will be held later in the summer. If friends or family so desire, donations may be made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or Siloam Mission. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I am so very sorry to hear of Leslie's passing. It's not the length of one's union that counts, but the quality and precious moments that make a marriage special.May you hold dear to your heart, the beautiful memories you have of Les. God Bless you Joan and may he give you strength during this most difficult journey. Love Tina. - Posted by: Tina Gawron (Friend and co-worker from Holy Family.) on: Mar 15, 2016

  • It has been a week since Leslie left us to begin his new life with our Heavenly Father. I am sure that he was welcomed into Heaven by so many of his dear family and friends. (Give "Gram" a hug from all of us down here.) Leslie is now free of pain and earthly struggles. A sudden passing can leave so many unresolved issues; and questions unanswered. It was not his choice nor ours for him to leave us when he did. My love and most sincere condolences to all those who loved Leslie, family, friends, siblings, children and grandchildren. - Posted by: Carol Grange (Cousin) on: Mar 12, 2016

  • My sincere sympathies at Leslie's passing. I have known him since we were kids. He is the cousin of my best friend. Les was always larger than life and liked to be very macho, but it always felt like there was a soft side under that tough exterior. He was definitely a take me as I am kind of guy. I was very sad to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his family at this time of grief. - Posted by: Johanna Christensen (Friend) on: Mar 11, 2016

  • My sincere Sympathy to all his family,; brothers and sisters, his children and grandchildren! May you all find comfort in your memories! I remember when we were younger , and used to get together , how you would tease and say I was older than you were! When actually , you were! Till we meet again! - Posted by: Audrey Miller (Cousin) on: Mar 09, 2016
