LORETO (ETO) TUBIS LLANES August 28, 1927 - March 5, 2016 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Loreto Tubis Llanes on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the age of 88 years, at Grace Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Maximo Sr.; her five children: Maximo Jr. (Charito), and grandchildren, Max Patrick, Patricia, and April of Winnipeg; Raymundo (Lea) and grandchildren, Leo and Lauren of Winnipeg; Valentin (Emy) and grandchildren, Jonathan, Oliver and Michelle of Herndon, VA; Maria Lourdes of Winnipeg; Corazon (Michael) and grandchildren, Jessica and Kevin of Falls Church, VA. Also, her sisters Adoracion Macapagal of Winnipeg; Beatriz Tubis of Bristow, VA; Cristina Tubis of Toronto, ON; Amparo Keilty (Hugh) of Maryland; and her nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents Ana and Raymundo Tubis; son Antonio; brother Saturnino; sister Catalina de Borja (Juanito), and brother-law Francisco Macapagal. Loreto worked as a seamstress at 20th Century Nylon Shirt Factory for 20 years and later became a supervisor. She and her husband with two children immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1982. One of her employment was doing alteration at Tip Top Tailors. Her love for travel had brought her to many places. She will always be remembered for her contagious laughter and happy spirit. She was gifted with a beautiful voice. Viewing (Lamay) will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave., from 7:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight with Rev. Eric Giddins to say the prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the church on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. Entombment will take place in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Reception to follow at St. Paul the Apostle Church hall. Pallbearers will be Clemente Abaya, Efren Arbilo, Tem Chavez, Rene Dimacali, Jun Misa, Felino Padre, Nestor Ponce, and Eugene Ularte. The family would like to convey their appreciation to the staff of the ICU Unit at the Grace Hospital. Also we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the relatives and friends who offered their prayers.
