EVANGELINE GABRIEL MACARAIG January 18, 1946 - March 3, 2016 On Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2016, Evangelina sadly departed us at the age of 70. She leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her husband Jose Macaraig; son, Richard Macaraig (Kathreen); daughter, Jean Macaraig (Joven); sister Dahlia Sailor and dearest mother-in-law Isabel Macaraig; her loving best friend Lourdes Macaraig. Immediate/extended family, Ben and Yolly Macaraig and kids Ryan, April, Ashley; Ben and Liguya Berena and kids Levilyn, Kalvin, Sharlene; Reynante and Lheticia Ignacio and kids Chelsea, Shantel and Shayla. Jillvin and Now Macaraig; Cenen and Eva Macaraig and affectionate and protective pets Lucky and Lucy. Evangelina immigrated to Winnipeg in 1972 and worked as a seamstress for many years until she created a home-based business while raising both Richard and Jean. The simple things in life made her smile - good food with family, her dogs, the Filipino channel, line dancing and traveling between Toronto and Vancouver to visit the kids. After a long battle with cancer Evangelina spent her last weeks under the care of the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Manitoba Home Care Program who we'd like to thank. We greatly appreciate the amazing work. Loving mom, wife, sister, aunt and friend - you'll be greatly missed but forever remembered and loved. Viewing/Lamay will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 commencing at 6:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, 836 Arlington Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Cremation will follow. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Mosaic Reception Centre, 1839 Inkster Blvd. immediately following the funeral mass.
