PAMEATA LAWSON June 30, 1951 - March 3, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Pameata Lawson who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. Pam was predeceased by her parents: Alvin Williams (father) and Rhena Spence (mother). Survived by her siblings: Doreen Cunningham and brother-in-law Neuville, Rosalee Williams, Emla Spence, and Mikena Spence and sister-in-law Vilma; children Novlette, Shawnette and Ornette Lawson, and grandchildren Ivy Winter and DeVon Lee. Pam was born in Hanover, Jamaica, immigrated to Canada in 1972, were she married her childhood sweetheart Bernard Lawson. Pam then began working at Municipal Hospital now known as Riverview Health Centre until her retirement. Throughout her career she developed strong relationships with her co-workers who stood by her side to the very end. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare and Concordia Hospital, for their compassion and care. A celebration of Pam's life will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Transcona.
