I grew up a few houses away on Whittier... "Oma" was such a sweet lady... I am sad to hear of her passing. Years later when I purchased the same house, my daughter Hayley would go to Oma and Florence's daily as they would babysit for me. She will be missed. I will remember her always smiling! And I loved how she enjoyed talking about Holland. My condolences to her family, especially Florence and Alex. - Posted by: DARREN DILAY (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2016

What a sad day. She was my Tante Mien, even though we were not related. She was always a huge part of our family. Lots of great memories over the years, especially my childhood, like sitting on her back porch snapping beans and opening pea pods. I will always remember her contagious laugh, her big smile, her long tight hugs, and her beautiful singing voice. She will be greatly missed by many. Our condolances to Florence, Frances, Gilbert, and all the extended family. - Posted by: Joyce Bosma ( nee Alkema ) (Family friend and childhood neighbor on Whittier) on: Mar 20, 2016

Lovely lady always ready with a smile and good word. Will remember being in her kitchen sharing tea and cookies as a kid. Her and her family very kind and generous to my Mom, Yvonne Telgarsky. Sincere sympathy to her family, she will be missed. - Posted by: Arlene Nault (Neighbour on Whittier ) on: Mar 14, 2016
