Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVAN SABOURIN Evan Sabourin, age 36, passed away at his home on March 19, 2016, following a long struggle with addiction. He was born in Winnipeg on August 16, 1979. Evan is survived by his dad and mom: George and Debbie Sabourin; his sisters: Erin (Terry) Nixon and Dana (Paul) Sabourin; his brother Derek (Andrea); niece Lauren and nephew Morgan. He also leaves his special friends Dan Gagne, Kelly LaFleur, Ellen Smirl and many other friends and family. Sadly he leaves his best friend of all, Roxy, who was his rock. Evan attended high school in St. Jean and graduated in 1998. He was very artistic. He enjoyed painting and photography and was gifted with a camera. He took part in many art exhibits from Vancouver to Manitoba and even had a book of collages published while living in Vancouver. He was an avid runner and ran several marathons. Evan travelled all over North America. He had an awesome sense of adventure and was able to see the world from a different perspective. He spent time living in Montreal, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Winnipeg, New Orleans, Austin and Vancouver. He worked tree planting in British Columbia, helped others find housing for RainCity in Vancouver and always tried to make it back to Manitoba for harvest with his dad and brother. Three years ago he made the move to St. Jean to be a permanent fixture on the family farm. A celebration of Evan's life will be held at the St. Jean Centennial Hall on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank Morris Funeral Home and all the people who loved and supported Evan over the years. He will be greatly missed. Donations may be made to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. In honour of Evan please plant a tree, and nurture it in his memory. Evan was the only one of my friends who I ever considered to be like a real brother to me & he rose to the occasion. We were immediate friends when we met in Little Rock many years ago & he always made a point to visit me in his travels wherever I was. It's so easy for me to conjur the feeling of familiarity I felt being with him...I will do my best to remember that as long as I live. I feel so much for his blood family-Having lost my own brother several years ago, I know that sort of pain. The deepest I have felt yet-But a parent's loss is something I do not know. The web of his family & friends~We'll hold him in our hearts forever. - Posted by: Tanya W (Old Friend) on: Mar 23, 2016
