LAURENTINA DE MIRANDA SIMOES RESENDES July 28, 1936 - March 22, 2016 Laurentina was reunited with her adoring husband Manuel as she went to be with Jesus on March 22, 2016. She has left behind her two loving daughters, Paula Resendes and Manuela Hoff (Tom), her five grandchildren: Daniel, Andrew, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Marissa, a great-grandson Antonio, her sister Maria, brother Anibal, several nieces and nephews. Laurentina de Miranda Simoes Resendes was born in Sao Miguel, Acores, and arrived in Canada during 1967. Laurentina had a courageous personality and delightful sense of humor, that led her to be a strong sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly. We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Blom as well as the nurses and health care aides at Riverview Health Centre for their friendly and caring assistance given to our mother over the past eight years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street with Rev. Fr. Andre Lico as Celebrant.
