EWALD LASER On March 27, 2016, Easter morning, Ewald (Ed) Laser, 85, passed from this earthly home to be with his Saviour Jesus Christ in heavenly Glory. He is survived by his dear wife of 63 years, Ruth, daughter Ingrid (Karl) Korporal, son-in-law John Macloskie, grandchildren Brynn, Kristine, Kelsey, Kendra, Matthew, Daniel, and Bridget, seven great-grandchildren, and brothers Artur (Lena) and Alfred (Vera). He was predeceased by his daughter Karen, parents Daniel and Ida, brother Erhard, and sisters Alice (Werner) Duesterdiek and Lea (Otto) Boettcher. A viewing will be held in Altona on Friday, April 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wiebe Funeral Home. On Saturday, April 2 at the Rowandale Baptist Church, Winnipeg there will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m., funeral service at 11:00 a.m., lunch at 12:00 noon and interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. Ed was a very good and generous neighbor. He always thought and did for others. I was always amazed at the amount of fresh vegetables and strawberries that he had picked. He shared the fruits of his hard work of picking with his neighbors.Even after Mike passed away he would always check to see if I was okay. I truly miss Ed & Ruth since they had to move away.
