JOAO MARTINS COELHO March 30, 1935 - March 30, 2016 Peacefully and comfortably at St. Boniface General Hospital, Joao passed away on the evening of his birthday, March 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81 years. He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Dolores, his loving wife Maria, son John, and all of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter Maria Rodrigues (Jorge); grandchildren Kevin and Karla (Alvin); Ashley, Carissa and Katlyn; great-granddaughter Ava Grace; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joao enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Many of his passions in life included caring and tending to his backyard, and in keeping with all of his many talents he enjoyed baking his cakes which he loved to share with his family and friends. We would like to thank all of the staff at Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Palliative Care for their hard work and dedication in making his last days comfortable. We also would like to express our thanks to his many friends and family who visited him. Prayer Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. with Rev. Father Andre Lico presiding. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N., Rev. Father Andre Lico celebrant. Interment in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, (204) 787-2197.
