DAPHNE BOLTON (nee GAGG) July 1925 - March 2016 Daphne's last wish has been fulfilled - to join her dear husband Arthur on March 26, 2016. All felt Daphne's loss with Art's passing and rallied to support her any way they could. On Daphne's 90th birthday people flew in from Western Canada to attend a dinner in her honour. This is the impact she had on all that knew her and a desire to acknowledge what she had meant to them in their own individual lives. Daphne will be missed by all. Although there were no siblings to mourn her passing, she had enjoyed the comfort and joys bestowed on her during the years by her friends' children. She grew up in the north end of Winnipeg, attending Luxton and St. John's Tech schools. Her first exposure to the working world was with Winnipeg Electric Company, then moving on to spend approximately 38 years with Domtar Packaging Winnipeg. Retirement in 1986 found the Boltons travelling Canada, England, Hawaii and cruising to many other ports of calls. As per her wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers people are encouraged to make a donation to a charity of their choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dennis and I were sad to learn of Daphne's passing as were members of the Creakers Bridge Club. She was a wonderful lady who enjoyed each and every day. We met Daphne at our Friday Afternoon "Creakers" Bridge Club many years ago where she and Art were partners in bridge just as they were in life for oh so many years. She loved to smile, enjoyed a good laugh, people, bridge, and always had a sense of joy about her which was contagious for many of us who knew her. Her Scottish tam was her trademark and was never far from her head or our hearts. The last conversation I had with her she said with her usual biggest smile that she was going to a "Shindig" that evening with some of the ladies from her condo. Now reunited with her dear husband Arthur they are together once again. Having had a wonderful life on earth may Daphne and Art continue to share good times and a good game of bridge as partners once again. - Posted by: Edna and Dennis Lee (Friends) on: Apr 09, 2016
