MARIA DZIAWA 1926 - 2016 Maria Dziawa passed away peacefully on May 15, 2016 at Holy Family Nursing Home. She was born in Ukraine on September 16, 1926. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her husband Walter Moroz and eldest son Michael and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our Mother, Baba, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother is fondly remembered for her kindness and generosity. Taking care of her family was of great importance to her. She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Moroz (1961), and her second husband Peter Dziawa (1986) and her son Walter Dziawa (1993). She is survived by her sons, Michael Moroz (Ann), Roman Moroz and daughter Lesia Kotyk (Peter); numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Thank you to Holy Family Nursing Home for the care and comfort they provided for our Mother. Thank you to Father Volodymyr Bashutskyy from Blessed Virgin Mary Parish and to Korban Funeral Chapel for their expertise and guidance. A private funeral service has taken place. Rest in peace. Living just down the lane from Maria for the past 37 years, I had the opportunity of chatting with her quite often. She was a very interesting person and often talked about her life, including her hardships. She was a hard working woman and at this time of year, I would often see her tending to her garden and to her precious flowers. It feels odd to walk past her house and not see her wearing her little bonnet and sitting on her front porch. Hopefully, she is now in a better place surrounded by beauty and peace. Our condolences to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You were all very important to her. May you find comfort in each other and in all of your fond memories.
