JOAN OLGA GARRITY (nee ZWARYCH) March 11, 1945 - May 20, 2016 After a hard struggle with leukemia, Joan passed away at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Ward on Friday, May 20, 2016. She was predeceased by her father Klym Zwarych, and her mother Mary Prokop. Left to mourn are her husband Brian; sons Ryan (Jodie) and Darcy; grandchildren Tristyn and Peyton; sister Terry Pinchevsky (Brian); nephews Corey and Kevin; brother William Zwarych (Irene) and their family George, Tracy and Alex; special friends Eleanor, Dolly, Audrey, Betty, Lois, and Aunt Kathy Sterling. Thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at CancerCare Manitoba for their kindness and the wonderful care they provided to Joan during her struggles. According to Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.   • We have many fond memories of Joan from our time spent at Tarryall Resort. Joan's love of gardening, handicrafts, cooking and reading was shared with all of us. Her creative spirit and peaceful demeanor was exemplified in her approach to life and friendships. Our deepest condolences go out to you Brian, sons Ryan, Darcy and extended family. Joan's special gift to us for our wedding years ago was a beautiful, cross stitch that she sewed. The message on it was "Love one another". We wish you the same at this very sad and difficult time.
