MAURICE STOROSCHUK April 26, 1937 - May 21, 2016 Maurice was a very active person. When he wasn't meeting up with the coffee, perogy, or Legion crews, he was attending festivals or rodeos in his "self contained" motorhome. In between those activities, he was puttering around his four acres in St. Andrews or fishing at the cabin at Pointe Du Bois. He was a jack of all trades, from a hard working farm boy (Vita) to being an accountant and a owner of St. James Transfer. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Ann, brother Bobby, and Tiger. He is survived by his son Gary, sister Bernice and her family, Joyce, and numerous other relatives and friends. Unfortunately in December 2013 he had a surgery that left him a paraplegic, but still enjoyed sitting in the sun and going for van rides. Our family is deeply saddened by his passing. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. We wish to thank Wheeler Funeral Home for their help and Tudor Personal Care Home for their care and kindness.

  • Although it has been a very long time since I have seen Maurice I will never forget his smile and laugh. He was always quick with the wit and never short for words when we were raiding his fridge...thanks for the memories! My deepest sympathy goes out to you, Gary and your family. I know he will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Greg - Posted by: Greg Holt (Friend) on: May 28, 2016

  • Hi Gary, Very sorry to hear about your day, and condolences go out to you and your family! Your dad gave me one of my first jobs driving for St. James Transfer. I was always welcome in your home, and even had my own room at your house in Petersfield. I still live next door to your house you once lived in Petersfield and it reminds of those times at your place with your dad! Liz & Darren Stobbe - Posted by: Darren Stobbe (Friend) on: May 28, 2016

  • Uncle Maurice was always good to me. With his guidance and direction, I was able to buy my first home. He was always there if you needed him. Although his last years were not his happiest, he often had a joke or two and a smile on his face. I spent a lot of time with him over the last few years - but my best memories are of the years when he and my mom and all of us kids would go out to our grandparents home in Vita to spend the weekends. I will miss my Uncle Maurice - but I know that he is up in heaven doing one of the things he loved so much ..... dancing. - Posted by: Lorraine S (niece) on: May 28, 2016
