MARGARETHA HEINRICHS (nee FEHR) October 1, 1932 - May 30, 2016 Peacefully Margaret Heinrichs passed away May 30, 2016, at Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 83 years. Margaret is survived by one daughter, Anne, and four sons, John (Kathy), Dave (Lesley), Abe (Jackie) and Pete (Kim). She is also survived by grandchildren, Dave, Crystal (Clint), Johnny (Crystal), Ike (Myla), Dave (Vilma), Sherry, Jenny (Scott), Les (Christina), David, Travis and Teresa (John), many great-grandchildren, siblings, relatives and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Abe, her parents, Diedrich Fehr and Margaretha Hildebrand, her daughter, Helen, and grandson, Danny. Margaret's father was born in Morden, Manitoba. His family moved to Cuauhtémoc, Mexico area (near Chihuahua, Mexico) to start a new life. Margaret was only 13 years old when she lost her mother to complications of childbirth. She was the eldest of five children. Her father remarried and had another 17 children. Margaret married when she was 18 years old, and moved to Manitoba, Canada. She and her husband, Abe, raised six children together in the Balmoral, Headingley / Oak Bluff, Steinbach, and Morris areas. Margaret was an exceptional household manager, and although money was scarce, she managed to prepare delicious meals of home-made perogies, with a creamy sauce, and served with home-made farmer sausage, roll kuchen, dipped in sugar and served with thick slices of watermelon, chicken noodle soup (from scratch), "rinssup" (a roast boiled with onions) and served with very hot mustard sauce, cinnamon buns, regular buns, spice crumble cake, and a delightful assortment of cookies, especially Christmas cookies. No one made them better than Grandma. Margaret was an amazing housekeeper. She enjoyed cleaning and kept her house spotless. Even when she lived alone, well over 80 years old, her home was uncluttered, organized and clean. Margaret loved social gatherings, and had many friends wherever she lived. To know her was to love her. She did not have a mean bone in her body, nor an unkind word to say. In response to most problems, she would say, "We have to love him (or her)". Her favourite activity by any measure was church. She loved the Lord, and the Bible was the only book she ever read. It was always open on her coffee table. She knew her Bible, and she was always ready to discuss its meaning and significance. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris Fellowship Chapel, 223 Mary Street S., Morris, Manitoba, R0G 1K0 with interment at Morris cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 between 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home, 136 James St., Morris. • Mrs. Heinrichs was a warm, kind and friendly lady who loved to be around family and friends. She was a great cook. She enjoyed a good laugh. I will remember her with fondness.
