DONALD EVANS It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, Donald Evans on Sunday, June 5, 2016 peacefully at Concordia Place. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marjorie, January 5, 2013. Donald was born in Mexborough, England, on January 11, 1925 to Dorothy and Leslie Evans. He grew up in Yorkshire, England. During the Second World War he served in the R.A.F. 83rd Squadron as a flight engineer on a Lancaster Bomber. He married his childhood sweetheart Marjorie Stowell, on January 12, 1946. Along with their family, they immigrated to Canada in October 1952, eventually settling in Winnipeg after briefly living in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jeff (Gerrie), Karen, Ryan (Carmina), Chelsea, Matt, and Andrew; great-grandchildren Damon, Jenna and Logan. He is also survived by sister Dorothy Taylor, family and friends in England. He was predeceased by his brother Eric. Donald was a caring and loving husband and father. He was a gifted story teller. He was a very experienced and successful salesman, holding many positions with various companies. He retired from The Bay downtown store in 1996 after a successful and happy sales career. He enjoyed his retirement by traveling to exciting locales. He was a diehard Blue Bomber fan and was looking forward to the 2016 season. In his spare time, he built many household projects.
