PATTI COURNOYER 1965 - 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Patti. Remaining to forever remember Patti's blessings are her loving and devoted husband Ed, of 23 years, their families and many friends. Pre-deceased by her father Peter, 2007, survived by mother Helen and siblings, Perry (Yvonne), Bonnie, Lana (Fred), Shelley, Rodger (Marsha) and numerous nieces and nephews. Patti was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and moved to Abbotsford, BC, in 1967, where she was raised. In her early 20's, Patti settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met her best friend, lover and caregiver...husband Eddie. Patti viewed life as a gift, inspiring others instead of complaining. She persevered through adversity and was a determined young woman who accomplished a lot, regardless of the circumstances. Patti lived life with courage and compassion, but with wit and a sense of humour. The family would like to thank all of her medical professionals and caregivers who were such a great help. A celebration of Patti's life will be in Winnipeg at a later date and a memorial service will be held in Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society. Dear Patti, I'm saddened to hear of your passing. Not for you, but for all those you left behind to miss your brilliant sense of humour, your positive outlook and your commitment to living out the love of Christ. I knew you for a season and seriously regret not trying harder to remain in touch. During the time we spent together in bible study and prayer, I learned so much from you. I have never met anyone with such faith, joy, excitement for life, and selfless love for others while living with such a debilitating illness. I never heard you complain once, even when others around you would complain about much less. You truly displayed the love described in 1 Corinthians 13. "Elephant Shoes" sweet, beautiful Patti. We will meet again. - Posted by: Liz () on: Jun 13, 2016
