HELEN KRENTZ (nee MATHESON) November 2, 1918 - January 9, 2016 Peacefully at the Ashern Personal Care Home on January 9, 2016, Helen passed away at the age of 97. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all those who knew her. She is survived by daughters, Claire, and Marion (Klaus); daughter-in-law, Lorraine; sister-in-law, Edna; grandchildren, Debbie (Kole), Trevor (Ruth), Lorne (Tammy), Jeff (Brenda), Todd (Louise), Candace (Shane), Conrad (Dana), and Tannis; 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Dick; son, Donald; son-in-law, Walter; sisters, Margaret, Mae; and brothers, Angus and Thomas. Helen was born at Silver Bay, MB and for all but a short period lived in the Moosehorn area, working hard at farming and numerous other jobs to help support her family. Helen and Dick were always popular hosts for parties and family gatherings. Helen loved fastball and curling, the outdoors, fishing and travel. In keeping with her wishes, Helen was cremated and a graveside memorial will be held at the Moosehorn Baptist Cemetery on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Those attending may meet at the Moosehorn Curling Rink beforehand (open by 11:00 a.m.). Procession will leave for the cemetery near 12:30 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Emadi and the Ashern Personal Care Home workers for caring for Mum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2. Goodbye my family, my life has passed, I loved you all until the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, Love one another, for my sake. For those that you loved don't go away, They walk along beside you Each and every day. I will love you always And miss you forever!   • Dear Family I remember fondly your mother and your dad. Oh, the times we had at the Ashern Hotel when my parents where away in Mexico. My mom and dad are gone now.
