HEATHER LYNN RUHR (nee KOSTIW) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Heather, on July 23, 2016, at the age of 62 in the comfort of her own home. She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Vera Kostiw, and grandparents Chris and Lydia Liebrecht. Heather will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Kyle (Val), Joel (Jennie), Lauren, her brother Perry (Florey), nephew Lee and niece Victoria. Mom was born in Winnipeg on July 18, 1954, to loving parents Steve and Vera. She grew up with younger brother and best friend Perry. After graduating high school she pursued a career at the Richardson building where she made many friends and memories. At the age of 27 she had her first child, Kyle, with husband Ken. Later came their other two children, Joel and Lauren. She spent her life generously as a stay-at-home mom. Her endless patience and sacrifice left her kids knowing how it felt to be unconditionally and truly loved. Mom was the glue that held her family and friends together. She will also be dearly missed by her three life long friends Adrienne, Marti and Brenda. A memorial service celebrating Heather's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Heather may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO.
