MARY ELIZABETH SHARP March 8, 1918 - August 1, 2016 We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Sharp of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Sunday, August 1, 2016. Mary was the eldest of four children born to John A. Russell and Bertha (Ivey) Russell. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Stuart Russell and her daughter Mary Louise Sharp. She is survived by two brothers, Ronald A. Russell (Carol) and Gerald D.T. Russell (Mary Ann); son G. Russell Sharp (Bernice); three grandsons, Anthony (Susan), Andrew and Alexander; and two great-grandchildren Lauren and Colton. Also grandson Colin Elliott; granddaughter Shannon (Ryan); great-grandchildren Elliott and Veronica; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Mary attended Kelvin High School and St. Mary's Academy. In 1940 Mary married G. Harold Sharp and they lived in Winnipeg until 1951 when they moved to Montreal, Quebec. Harold predeceased Mary in 1973. Mary, Russell and Bernice returned to Winnipeg in 2010 and Mary took up residence at the Westhaven Retirement Home where she lived a quiet and enjoyable life. After a recent surgery the addition of Homecare caregivers to her daily routine was greatly appreciated.
