  • I have lost my big sister. A lifetime of memories will forever be cherished. Rest in peace, Jennie. Love, Fran - Posted by: Frances Smith (Sister) on: Aug 11, 2016

  • Jenny came to work for me back in the early 1970s at Eaton's. She was a smashing tall blonde with great carriage and a crackerjack sales person. She wore her clothes beautifully and was always smiling and gracious to the customers. She and I became friends from that time on and have endeavoured to keep in touch over the years. Last time we had dinner at her home the three of us had a marvelous evening together talking about old times. She shared a memory with us of when King George and Queen Elizabeth came to Winnipeg before WWII and she stood on the street as the open carriage came by and she could smell the Queens cologne she was so close to the carriage . She was always positive and direct and over all things one aspect of her life was her greatest joy and that was Garth. We always knew how much she valued him when we spoke. He was her greatest joy in life. I am sad that she was the last remaining one of my girls from Eaton's 341. She was a real asset to the store and I will never forget her as a friend.
