RACHEL DESORCY October 29, 1953 - August 14, 2016 On Sunday, August 14, 2016, surrounded by love and embraced by family, Rachel Jeanne DeSorcy peacefully passed away. Rachel was born in St. Boniface and lived in Winnipeg, Oakbank, and eventually her and Ray settled down in Windsor Park and created the heart of the family with their home and love. In 1990 Rachel was swept off her feet by her knight on an ironhorse, Ray Dalman. Together creating stories of love, laughter and mischief that lasted for the rest of their too-short lives. Rachel's family and friends take comfort in knowing they were truly loved by her. Her generous spirit, sparkling humour and sheer love of life leave an indelible mark on all our hearts. She will be greatly missed by sons Kurtis (Theresa) and Calvin; grandchildren Twyla and Lincoln; siblings: Jean (Kathy), Jacqueline (Denis), Bernard, Gerald (Cindy), Rose Marie, Andre (Gail), Michelle, Henriette (Marcel) and Chantal (Ron); Ray's family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rachel leaves us to join her beloved Ray, and her parents, Laurette and Jacques. The family expresses deep appreciation for the extraordinary care given to Rachel by Theresa Ross, Henriette DeSorcy and the medical team at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. A special thank you to the nurses, doctors and all staff in the SICU for all your extraordinary care and compassion. A celebration of life for our mom, memere (maymay), sister, aunt and dear friend will take place on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:45 p.m. at Saint-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Avenue with reception to follow at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Rachel can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU & CO.
