LLOYD CHANAS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandpa, at the age of 65, in the peace of his own home on August 23, 2016. Dad will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his children and grandchildren: Shannon Chanas (Stephan), Bryce and Shailee; Lloydiene (Michael) Smith, Hayden and Mindy; Curt Chanas (Lindsey); he will also be sadly missed by his sisters Sandra (Les) Gushta, Donna Fitkowski (Terry), Kristine Chanas (Blake), Barb Chanas (Brad), Leanne (Enio) Pippo, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lloyd was born in Selkirk, MB on February 9, 1951. Lloyd was predeceased by both parents Michael Chanas (2002) and Stella Chanas (2009). Lloyd spent his early years of life on the family farm; he never gave it a second thought to give a helping hand. His favourite place to be was in the bush cutting wood then finishing the day with his dad in the barn enjoying a cold beer. Lloyd enjoyed his summers camping, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Although Lloyd struggled for the back half of his life, he still managed to keep up with his passion to garden fresh veggies, and spend time fishing by the river with his grandson. Lloyd had a heart of gold. A viewing will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk on August 29 at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial of ashes will take place at St. Johns Ukrainian Catholic Church, Poplar Park, MB. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Lloyd's memory can be made to the MS Society of Canada, 100-1465 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L8.
