Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY STRUC June 9, 1936 - August 27, 2016 After a courageous battle with cancer, our Mom and Grandma Mary passed away peacefully at the Women's Hospital on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Mom was predeceased by her first husband Bill Chymy; second husband Sam Struc; mother and father Magdalena and Paul Huywan; sister Annie Marcyniuk; brothers, Joe and John; special Aunt Mary Kowalyk; son-in-law Collin Hicks; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mary is survived by her sister Jean Struc, as well as many sisters in-law, her children, Linda (Brian), Rick (Bice), Diane (Rockford); and her grandchildren, Maisie, Rob (Karen), Ruby (Adam), Angie, Ryan, Jade, Michelle (Blake), Josh, Vanessa and Samara. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kylie, Lily, Grace, Jackson, Brandon and a new arrival expected in January. Mom also leaves behind many nieces, and nephews, and cousins all of who were very special to her. Mary was born June 9, 1936 in Broad Valley, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg after her first husband's Bill untimely death. Mom resided in her house in Weston for 51 where she was known throughout the neighbourhood for having a beautiful yard full of flowers every year. Mom was our family matriarch; a strong woman who taught us about overcoming tragedy and hardship and continuing on with life. We will miss her advice, her wonderful cooking, determination and love for her family. Mom had a special bond with her sister Jennie. Living in close proximity to each other made for a unique relationship for both families. Thank you Aunty Jennie for being there for mom all these years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg. Mom will be laid to rest in Broad Valley Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Blank, Dr. Tierney, as well as the team of CancerCare doctors. In lieu of flowers donations to CancerCare Manitoba would be greatly appreciated. Our family's deepest condolences Linda, Rick, Diane and family. Our moms were dear friends, unfortunately they didn't get to visit as often as they did on the farm. We are currently on the east coast and were so sad to miss your mom's Celebration of Life. Donna and Paul Downie (Karsin) - Posted by: Donna and Paul Downie (Karsin) () on: Sep 05, 2016
