J. A. JEAN SAREAULT On Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Portage and District General Hospital, Jean Sareault, beloved husband of Dolores Sareault passed away at the age of 81 years. Jean was born on August 14, 1935, son of the late Joseph Alfred and Anne Marie of St. Remi, Quebec. Following school and college, Jean join the R.C.A.F. in 1953 and spent several years in Europe. In 1959 he began employment at Canadian Aviation Electronics in Montreal and later Winnipeg, MB., In 1963 Jean joined the Manitoba Telephone System where he worked until retirement. When his family was young, he was instrumental in starting the Big Four Hockey League and also was involved in many volunteer activities in the community. He was very active in the local Knights of Columbus Council #4250. He was proud to ascend to the Fourth Degree. As a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church Jean was very involved in every aspect of the church. He loved old cars including his Ford Ranchero, some Edsels and his very favourite, white Buick Electra 225 convertible. Auction sales were also on his favourites list. Predeceased by his parents and one sister, Jean is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores; three sons, Jean-Rene, aka JR, (MaryAnn) and their children, Jillian and Jacob; Pierre (Tracey) and their children, Jessika and Travis and Richard (aka Rico). Also two brothers, Gerard and Claude and one sister Cecile and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Inurnment will take place following the reception at the Hillside Memorial Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations to the Sunset Palliative Care Inc. P. O. Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1M 3B2; Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Unit 3, 2430 Victoria Ave., Brandon, MB, R7B 0M5; or Good Shepherd Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 114 Countess Ave., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 0T2 would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to RONALD MOFFIT MEMORIAL SERVICES.
