RICHARD DENNIS CHIPPENDALE With a heavy heart, I share the peaceful passing of my best friend and soul mate, Richard Dennis Chippendale on August 26, 2016. He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie; children Brigitte, Natalie, Richard and Sean; grandchildren Kayleigh, Garrett, Justin, Tyson, Kyan, Weston, Charlie and Georgia and great-grandson Emmett all from Vernon, BC. Rick will also be dearly missed by his father-in-law John and mother-in-law Ann of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother-in-law Doug and wife Trudy of Eagle River, Ontario; sister Pat and husband Don of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother Harvey and wife Elsie of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Rick was born in St. Boniface on May 27, l946, grew up in the West End and was an avid athlete. He had a very entrepreneurial spirit, owning The Chrome Pit for 20 years, and had numerous other business adventures including developing several types of games. He and Debbie were avid travelers, and after retiring from The Chrome Pit they became full time RVer's... meeting and touching so many people's lives. This provided the opportunity to reconnect with his children and grandchildren in British Columbia and spend precious time with them. During their travels they discovered a court game called pickleball and so began Rick and Debbie's much loved pickleball career. He loved the game so much, helping people develop their pickleball skills and forming lasting friendships in the United States and in Canada. He was a passionate and creative cook who loved to put that extra loving touch to his cooking for his family and friends. Special thanks to the numerous family and friends who supported us both and also those who supported us through email, Facebook, phone calls, and prayers. Your kindness and compassion are greatly appreciated and means a lot to us. Rick was one of the most positive, kind, generous and gentle men, touching so many lives and he will be truly missed... but his spirit will live on within us all. A private gathering of family and friends will be held at the home of his brother, Harvey and sister-in-law, Elsie, to celebrate his life.
